Ensign Learning Center

Ensign is apart of the FFVP:
Fresh Fruit and Vegetable Program
What is FFVP?
The Fresh Fruit and Vegetable Program (or FFVP as it is most commonly known) is a grant program that allows schools to provide a fresh fruit or vegetable snack to students during the school day (outside of the regular lunch and breakfast program).
What are the benefits?
-
Wellfed kids learn better! A healthy snack in between meals can help kids stay focused and eliminate classroom behavior issues.
-
FFVP introduces children to a variety of produce that they might not otherwise have the opportunity to sample.
-
Kids at FFVP schools eat more fruits and vegetables than kids at schools that don’t participate in the program (up to 1/3 cup per day more!), and are more likely to have a favorable opinion of fruits and vegetables.
-
At participating schools, 95% of parents, students, and school staff are fans of the program and would like to see it continue.
