I’ve had the wonderful opportunity to work at Ensign Learning Center for 10 years. I’ve taught 4th grade for 6 of those years. I am currently working towards getting my bachelors in teaching. Fourth grade is my favorite! We do fun hands on learning activities! My goal is to inspire and ignite a love of learning in each of my student’s hearts. Every student has individual strengths and limitless potential. My class follows strict policies that are designed to create a positive learning environment where they can achieve their full potential. I support my students and help them to face the challenges of 4th grade. I ensure that each of my students receive care and support to ask questions and achieve 100% mastery in the subjects we are learning this year.

Heather Larsen

My name is Heather Larsen and I have taught for 11+ years now. I’ve taught a few different grades at both Ensign and Jordan School District. This year I am extremely excited to be returning to Ensign and teaching 4th grade! I have completed my Bachelors in Elementary Education, my Masters in Curriculum Instruction and Design, Literacy certifications, as well as my ESL endorsement.

I absolutely love teaching! I believe that when given the correct tools every student can be successful in school. My goal as a teacher is to help each student get what they need to be successful and love learning. In my class it’s not just mine it’s OUR class and we are a family, we work together, learn together, celebrate each other’s successes, and take care of each other. I want every student to know they are loved and wanted at school. Learning is fun in our class, I design my lessons and classroom with the goal of making every student excited to come to school and want to be there every day.

For behavior management I use positive reinforcement as a way to manage behavior expectations I have set with the students. I keep an open line of communication with every parent so if an issue does occur we can work together to quickly resolve the issue.
